It's a little depressing; opening up the newspapers and news of tragedy, natural disasters and war mayhem flashes before our very eyes. It doesn't help that theorists are going crazy with the 2012 predictions again. Couldn't help but wonder whether the world is always like this; the history books are depicting just that or if it is with the capabilities of the internet and the far reaches of globalization, that we heard news from all corners of the globe which in turns leaves us with the impression that the world is a very scary place indeed. Is it any wonder, really, that the majority of us are reportedly cynical, critical and (with thoughts of possibly going) suicidal?

All this from opening today's newspaper in the morning. Reminded myself the reason why my mom and I stay away from the news; a striking contrast from the past year where the day won't feel complete without an article read. Of course, the cons would have to be not being on the know of what's happening now but I would rather pay the price of being ignorant (to a certain extend of course. no one including me likes to go in blind, figuratively speaking) than being so freaking depressed all the time.

Blah.

Feeling for some rainbow coloured cake to brighten up my day, like the one below:

I know, i know. Random. Now seriously, know any cake shop that sells pastries like these?

update It's raining. Hard. How depressing :C
