Chinese New Year. Well, you gotta hand it to the ancient Chinese; they do know how to celebrate, huh? The ang pau tradition is pretty awesome too unless if you're the one handing them red packets but I shall not think about it just yet. I've still got plenty of time!
To be honest, CNY was awkward. Met with relatives I haven't seen in years and not recognizing most of them while stuffing myself down with food. Didn't visit my dad's side of the family though but heard plenty of hilarious stories from my siblings about what happened and the family lineage like apparently, one of my grandma's cousin ran to Malaysia from China because of some dispute he caused in a kung-fu fighting competition. I'm got them fighter blood in me, rawr!
And here are some pictures I stole from my sis that she took while visiting my dad's old school, St. Michael's in Ipoh. How come my school don't look like that? Though they can keep the statue, pretty freaky.
My sister, standing next to the statue, was only just below the book held by the shorter figure! It's a statue of a mother and child.
According to my sister who heard from my father, this used to be a safe built by the Japanese during their reign in Malaysia back then. Creepily, my sister saw a door with a sign hanging stating that the room behind the door used to be an interrogation room where the Japs used to grill the prisoners and torture them! Yikes!
Unfortunately, no pictures from me instead but I can tell you, there was a lot of food, drinks (100plus to be exact), a star and shiny glass though I don't feel like elaborating right now. I need my sleep! Goodnight and sweet dreams XD
