I am so badass I can't stand it.
Okay, first of, I am not a badass. I know this, my family knows this, my friends knows this, *he* knows this and people who I've just met knows this. I have this good girl look apparently and my height doesn't make me badass one bit. But being a good girl is boring. We are unfairly stereotyped as those type of innocent, naive girls who don't dye their hair and stay away from thick make-up (even if they are true, at least for me) while tying our hair in those cute lil ponytails with cute lil ribbons and wearing those white floaty dresses.
It's a curse, apparently.Being a badass bitch is cool, sexy and fun, according to what Hollywood (Gossip Girl!) and the mass media (eg: US Cosmo with headlines like 'For Bitches Only') are selling these days. Bitches have the confidence, get the guys, the fabulous friends and head to parties Sunday till Saturday. They wear sky-high heels, leather jackets, dramatic make-up, sexy bondage dresses and carry the IT bags.
TV Land's ultimate badass bitches
Meh. Boring.
Yeah, you heard me.
I vote for Good Girl. Bad-ass bitches are exciting yet it is expected from them. Their actions won't cause eyes to blink in surprise. On the other hand, goodie-two-shoes Pollyanna types have an element of surprise. Or can someone explain to me why are guys so crazy over the whole librarian fantasy?
But the whole topic is not centered towards being a good girl or a bad ass bitch. I've written out of topic, to be honest. Hahaha. What I really want to talk about is the night of 23th October 2010, the night of my
bestie's surprise party.
It all started from a little idea that clicked inside my head while I was messaging my bestie about dinner on the 24th (her birth-date) on Facebook. Dinner with our group of friends is nice but she's turning the big TWO-O, an age where she has finally leave the teen years and join the rest of us oldies. So, within a few minutes of mulling over it and thinking, what do I've got to lose? I clicked onto her Facebook page, scanned her wall and started shooting off private messages with her mom, sis and an awesome college friend of hers, Li Hui (who unfortunately couldn't come). Then I proceeded to write to our group of friends about it.
Within a few days everything has been set; the choice of restaurant (a big THANK YOU to
Jon for calling reservation + getting the balloons and hearing me blabber about my insecurities of the whole hoopla not working!) the choice of cake (send a virtual hug to
Lava for letting me drag her here and there & for her many helpful suggestions) and
*him* (~143~ for patiently running here and there & helping me check the stuff up + listening to my many crazy ideas mumblings etc etc)
A shoutout to
Lay Ann,
Ee Ping,
Joyce,
Wheng Chung (especially for coming during your break even though it was rush hour),
Kay Jun and my sista
Marissa for coming and making this crazy fun. But this won't have happened if it wasn't for Vien's mom,
Maggie. Thanks for participating in this whole charade! Lots of fun! XD
♥ you, Vien

So there you have it. I am a total noob at photo editing let alone Photoshop so the colour constancy is pretty obvious. Anyway, there's a bunch more
here that you can check out if you wanna stalk but the ones above pretty much summarized the whole evening. I have to admit, it was a less-than-perfect organized but hey, we had fun, didn't we? The guys were shy though. Lol.
Too bad we didn't get to take a picture of Wheng Chung in his iScream outfit. We were all so excited over it but dang, we talked so much we didn't noticed the time.
I wanna do it again!
