.I am truly convinced that I was born in the wrong country. No, that is not accurate because I am proud of my decent. It's just the conservative mindset of my beloved country that I am not too happy about. This is especially evident in the fashion front. To be fair, there had been a fair number of people that I've encountered with great fashion style and taste, which was a relief (for me at least) amidst the countless head of clones. I wondered if I could truly take some people seriously when they ponder the reasons why the industry ain't flourishing.
Besides, don't you find it weird that we Malaysians and Asians have traditions where girls have to cover up as much as possible but in the Western (read: cold) countries, they seemed bent on flashing skin; the more the better.
But I have to say, I blame our tropical climate too. The idea of an eternal summer filled with soft floral dresses seems lovely but it's too wet and suffocatingly hot and every day wearing summer dresses can get a little boring. Especially if you're the type who prefer to wear a leather jacket.
Never in Malaysia, unfortunately.
Just imagine what our olds will say about dressing up like this
