Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland is one of my must-watch movie of 2010 and finding out that Avril's brand new single Alice (Underground) is set to be the lead single, made the excitement quadrupled!
The Track List:
1. 'Alice (Underground)' by Avril Lavigne
2. 'The Poison' by The All-American Rejects
3. 'The Technicolor Phase' by Owl City
4. 'Her Name Is Alice' by Shinedown
5. 'Painting Flowers' by All Time Low
6. 'Where's My Angel' by Metro Station
7. 'Strange' by Tokio Hotel and Kerli
8. 'Follow Me Down' by 3OH!3 featuring Neon Hitch
9. 'Very Good Advice' by Robert Smith
10. 'In Transit' by Mark Hoppus with Pete Wentz
11. 'Welcome to Mystery' by Plain White T's
12. 'Tea Party' by Kerli
13. 'The Lobster Quadrille' by Franz Ferdinand
14. 'Running Out of Time' by Motion City Soundtrack
15. 'Fell Down a Hole' by Wolfmother
16. 'White Rabbit' by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals
Apparently, there had been a spat war on the choice of bands and artists featured in this soundtrack but I'm keeping an open mind.
I managed to stumble upon 3OH!3's single. It's the earliest one out.
I like the chorus.
Can't wait for Avril's one! Rumours that are circulating says that it's heavy on the rock side. Yes, over with the TBDT period! Thank gowd.
Also, while I am sure most of you have already seen the movie's trailer that was posted on July, but there's a 2nd trailer that was posted recently. Personally prefer the 2nd trailer which you can watch
here
[Update]
I went into a shock when I saw the update at Bandaids that Avril's song Alice had premiered on Ryan Seacrest's radio show so I quickly downloaded it. When it was done, I clicked play and ...
It is very Alanis Morissette with the simplistic straight-to-the-point lyrics and the screaming. Her voice is consistent and the Bandaids poll show that most of the fans loved it. I guess I am one of the minority. Problem is, it doesn't sound 'done', like it was incomplete. I hoped the new album won't sound like this, much to the chagrin of other fans, I am sure.
But don't let my little review influence you. Be the judge yourself.
[Update.Update]
I changed my mind. I like Avril's Alice song now especially after watching the ABC promo video on AIW. The screamy parts absolutely fit the trailer.
